The World War - 908 Words

Joint intentionalist and structuralists are perhaps even more applicable to the Second World War. The Germans as a whole were embarrassed by not only their loss of the First World War, but also the components of the Versailles Treaty, including, but not limited to the reparations and the territory loss. Before Hitler’s rise to Chancellor in 1933, he published Mein Kampf as a clear plan for the German Reich (Copeland 121). Going along with the intentionalist theory, Mein Kampf once again called for lebensraum for the German nationals, domestic or not, and taking back what they had lost in Versailles (Kershaw 110). Further evidence for German long-term goals is evident by Germany’s withdrawal from the League of Nations and plan for rearmament, showing that they were planning something of which the international community would not approve (Kershaw 116, Copeland 125). Of course, there are also strong structuralist arguments for the outbreak of the war. While Hitler pl anned for war in different stages, there was not a clear strategy that the Germans were going to take at every given moment. After France’s invasion of the Ruhr Valley to get their reparations, the Germans could see that the British and other Allies were not going to hold them accountable (Copeland Lecture). There was no way that they could foresee this general appeasement, but they definitely put it to their advantage. They used this opportunity to remilitarize the Rhineland and then take the SudetenlandShow MoreRelatedThe War of the Worlds920 Words   |  4 PagesThe War of the Worlds When earth is invaded, what will happen? A Summary of My Life Essay Example For Students

A Summary of My Life Essay My name is Oanh Tran Shields and I was born on July 25th, 1990. I lived in Vung Tau city, which has a beautiful beach in the south of Viet Nam. Im the oldest sister of four, with one younger sister and two younger brothers. In Viet Nam, for some reason, many of the people I know, such as friends and neighbors, used to call me Princess . That nickname followed me from when I was a little girl until the day that I flew to America. People called me that, but I know that Im not a princess at all. There are quite a few things that people dont know about me. For the most part, people think Im dependent on others, but Id say Im more independent than most people think. I was born into a family which takes care of their children very much. My parents brought me to school every morning and brought me home in the afternoon every single day from the day I started going to school until I graduated high school. In contrast, most of my friends learned how to get to school by themselves around eighth grade, and nearly all of my friends drove to school by themselves or with other friends when we were in high school. I wasnt driving to school because my parents did not allow me to drive to and from school. Since the streets near the school had lots of trucks passing by. In high school, while my classmates were hanging out with each other, I had to stay at home after school. Whenever I had an invitation to a birthday party from my friends, my parents would bring me to the party and pick me up when the party was over. Everybody thought that I was a girl who was very reliant on my parents. However, I listen to my parents not because Im weak or dependent, but just because I appreciate what they have done for me. I follow what they ask of me to make them feel more secure instead of rejecting them. Their caring didnt hold me back as I knew how to prepare my meals, my clothes, and my future. When I went to Ho Chi Minh City, where is far from my hometown (about 73 kilometers), for studies, I lived in a dormitory with new friends. I knew how to take care of myself and how to avoid getting sick. I caught the bus to come home every month by myself and went to extra classes every day. More importantly, If I was a dependent girl, I wouldnt know how to finish my documents to come to America without anyone as a sponsor, which is one of the most complicated things for young people at my age when they want to come to any overseas country. Im an ambitious girl, who has various hobbies. Sometimes, I dont know what I should focus on because Im interested in many different things in the world. First, I wanted to be a photographer, because I love taking pictures. When I got older, around 15 years old or so, I wanted to become a singer. I was enjoying singing and touching on different kind of music a lot. Moreover, I also liked doing something that concentrated on art, such as drawing, designing, or making handmade cards. Furthermore, I love working on cosmetics and different things to do with it, as I take pleasure in doing peoples hair and make-up. In the end, I realize that these favorite things which I enjoy doing are my hobbies, and not so much my career. Studying towards and doing business is my career, since I understood clearly about what my strongest field is and what I am fascinated with. I realize that Im friendly to everybody, but Im little bit picky in choosing my friends, especially close friends. .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .postImageUrl , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:hover , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:visited , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:active { border:0!important; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:active , .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918 .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ude61ed33043652294f8c131de3885918:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: It is a man's world. It is man who battles in wars EssayI like making new friends, but Im not interested in chatting around for a few hours like many girls my age love to do. Its rare to find me standing in one group with a few girls who are gossiping about people. I dont like being talkative. For me, time is very important and I dont want to waste it on chatting or gossip. However, I enjoy shopping and chatting with friends when I have actually finished my work. If not, I will feel guilty about myself. I would like to be close to a friend with who cares about their future and being mature. One more thing that people rarely know about me is I am a strict person sometimes. Even though I am a young girl, my mind requires more than what a young girl wants. I can be easy and be a young girl when I deal with something that is trivial or unimportant. However, dealing with something that is serious and significant, you will see me like an old girl; I am not fun and easy-going anymore. My biggest goal is becoming a successful woman, so I can help as many as needy people as I can. Every time I give someone something, I feel so happy and joyful. My heart hurts whenever I see people going hungry, being frosty and being sick without food, clothes and medicine. Orphanage kids can make me cry easily without hitting me. At that moment, I wish I could have a lot of money to build a house for those kids, buy their clothes, and give them an education. I hope I can do it one day in the near future. Now you know that I am an independent girl, not a princess,  as someone said. Not only I am independent, but also I am ambitious. Sometimes I am easy-going, sometimes I am strict. Being easy to cry is not for the type of girl, who seems strong, self-reliant and strict, but that is how I am. Those features make me a complicated girl.

Single Sex Schools Essays - Gender And Education, Sex Segregation

Single Sex Schools 09-16-92 In our world today there are many schools with a student body consisting of both sexes, nevertheless there are a significant num ber of schools carrying on the tradition of a single sex system. The fact that there are an undeniable number of single sex schools, is prof ound proof that the advantages of the single sex system overweigh the disadvantages. People said that friendship starting from childhood is more s table and valuable than friendship starting when working in the society. During leisure time boys will naturally gather together and talk a bout topics of interest to them. Some topics of conversation is probab ly not suitable in the presence of girls. The same happens to girls in s ingle sex schools. In a school of single sex, the students will feel mor e comfortable and relaxed in this way. The students in grade 8 would probably start to enter into their teen-age years. These teenagers because of curiosity, would have interest in trying to understand the difference between the two se xes, such as life style, interest, etc. Being in the same classroom ev ery day this might not be able to let them concentrate well enough on their studies. Besides the above advantages, studying in a single sex school would also keep attendance problems to a minimum. Boys and girls, being in the same classroom every day would naturally talk about activities aft er school such as going for movies, having a drink in the evening. In a sch ool of single sex, the students will not be given any extra temptations t o skip or be late because of their social life. Opinions from the public seem to indicate that schools of sin gle sex are more popular than co-ed schools . If this system was not beneficial then all the schools such as Brebuef that has adopted t his system would have eliminated it. Therefore the advantages must de finitely overshadow the disadvantages.
